Inspiring Young People

Build UK is participating in World Skills’ ‘The Skills Show’ on the Spotlight on Construction stage and is looking for members to promote the construction industry to young people.

‘The Skills Show’ hosts over 80,000 young people over 3 days to show them a full range of career options. On Thursday 17 November, Build UK will facilitate a morning of spotlight talks from our members.

Taking place at Birmingham NEC, we are looking for participants from the construction industry to share their practical and inspiring insights of their career in construction.

The talk should provide the young people with a good idea of how you entered construction, your career progression and inspire them to consider a career in construction.

We are looking for participants who are:

• trained Construction Ambassador or STEMNet Ambassadors
• able to deliver a 20 minute presentation on Thursday 17 November
• interesting and inspirational!

Whether you have completed an apprenticeship, moved into the construction sector later in your career, are an engineer, project manager or labourer, please get in touch with Sarah.Garry@BuildUK.org to register your interest or to nominate a colleague.
