Entries Open for Wates Group Sustainable Technologies Competition
The Wates Group has launched a sustainable technologies competition and is inviting Build UK members to enter their ideas.
The Dragons Den-style competition is particularly interested in hearing from companies with a sustainable product or technology that can offer direct resource efficiency benefits to existing commercial buildings, such as reducing energy in-use, carbon emissions, waste and water usage.
If shortlisted, participants will have the chance to present their solution to a panel of experts representing the Wates Group and their key customers and, if successful, these solutions could be adopted on some of their upcoming projects. The competition offers companies a fantastic opportunity to pitch to major clients who could potentially develop and accelerate the uptake of their product or technology.
One of the success stories from the Wates Group’s first ‘Green Dragon’s Den’ was Halcyan Limited, who has since received substantial client interest in their product.
Halcyan Limited Chief Executive Samantha Mant said:
"Halcyan Water Conditioners was delighted to be selected as a Wates innovation competition finalist. The process was really straightforward and the support we received to apply made all the difference. Since then we’ve met with at least four potential clients which is a fantastic return on our time investment. A really valuable and credible win for us and I would thoroughly recommend entering the competition to anyone with a ‘green’ innovation."
The closing date for entries is Friday 18 November 2016. For more information and to enter the competition, visit the Wates Group website.
