Finishes and Interiors Sector Creates One Stop Skills Shop
To support skill development and to ensure operatives hold the correct CSCS card for their occupation, the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) has launched an online training course booking platform that automatically adds newly achieved qualifications to individuals’ CSCS cards.
FIS CourseSight brings together details of courses and qualifications specific to the finishes and interiors sector, making accessing, booking and managing training quick and easy through a free online service.
The system enables employers and operatives to search for a sector specific qualification or course local to them, access the related training information, and then book and pay for it. Once the operative has successfully completed the training, the information is automatically updated on their CSCS card through the SkillSight database,
FIS member’s that register to use CourseSight can also manage their employees’ training requirements, such as individual training plans and performance review outcomes, through a tailored dashboard system.
FIS Chief Executive David Frise said:
“CourseSight provides a single point of reference for our sectors training requirements, and demonstrates FIS delivering added value to our members. FIS and Reference Point, the developers of CourseSight, have worked with a selected number of trainers who will be the first to populate the site with their training information and be nominated as FIS “approved” providers. We strongly believe this simple, cost effective model for accessing, booking and managing training will benefit the wider industry when rolled out.”
Build UK is arranging a demonstration of CourseSight for its members on Tuesday 1 November in London. To register your interest in participating and seeing the system first-hand, please email Lucy.Pearse@builduk.org.
